QuickPlay Media Powers Telecom New Zealand’s First
Mobile TV Service

Premium Video-on-Demand Service Enables XT Mobile Customers to Enjoy Award-Winning Programs

Toronto, ON — 16 September, 2009


QuickPlay Media Inc., the premier provider of solutions that manage the business of mobile video, today announced it is powering the first mobile TV service for Telecom New Zealand’s XT Mobile Network customers. The subscription-based service offers a broad selection of award-winning TV content for a monthly or weekly subscription fee, as well as premium clips and events on a pay-per-use basis. Telecom’s new service is available on a wide selection of today’s most popular video-enabled devices from leading manufacturers, including Sony Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung.

The service is available to Telecom New Zealand (Telecom) XT Mobile customers free of charge until the end of November, and includes a wide variety of exclusive content from leading networks, TVNZ and MediaWorks (TV3, C4) in addition to award-winning programs. These shows include “Two and a Half Men” and “Outrageous Fortune,” and top new series such as “Fringe” and “The Mentalist.” Besides great local content consisting of continuously updated news, weather, sports and business information from New Zealand’s major television networks, XT customers are also able to view animated shows such as “American Dad” and “Family Guy,” preview movie trailers, catch up on celebrity gossip and provide entertainment for children with a specially-designed Kids’ TV section.

Moreover, the XT Mobile TV service includes Web 2.0 features to ease navigation and discovery, including content search which allows subscribers to easily and quickly locate exclusive programming from leading networks and popular shows. Telecom’s sophisticated mobile TV service also includes a Top 10 content listing, provides guidance on how to locate and view programs, and personalizes recommendations based on a subscriber’s viewing habits.

Pricing and Availability

Telecom’s XT Mobile network is a next generation HSDPA network. The Mobile TV service is available throughout Telecom’s extensive coverage area to all XT Mobile Network customers with compatible handsets. Telecom will be offering the TV service free of charge until November 30, 2009.
