QuickPlay Media Inc. Named as a Finalist in the Sixth Annual Canadian New Media Awards

The industry’s most prominent advocates and entrepreneurs to be awarded on May 29th

TORONTO, ON - April 20, 2006


Raja Khanna co-founder and chief creative officer of QuickPlay Media Inc., a leader in interactive mobile media has been recognized as one of Canada’s new media leaders. Khanna is one of three finalists to be named for the “Lifetime Achievement Award” category of the 2006 Canadian New Media Awards (CNMA). Celebrity host, Alan Park from the Royal Canadian Air Farce will be joined by industry supporters on May 29th, 2006 to celebrate and present Awards at The Carlu in Toronto.

“Being nominated for a lifetime achievement award is incredible,” says Khanna. “It’s wonderful to have my work in new media recognized by my peers and by the industry.” In addition to his role at QuickPlay, Khanna also sits on the Media Advisory Committee of the Ontario Media Development Corporation and the Advisory Boards of Innoversity and the NextMedia Festival and International New Media Festival. He is also involved in industry round tables including the City of Toronto Cultural Industries, Government of Ontario – Ministry of EOI Interactive Industry and Telefilm Canada New Media Industry.

Hailing from almost every province in Canada, finalists include companies and individuals accomplished in the digital interactive media space. Finalists represent a wide range of government, private and public organizations from every facet of the new media industry including programmers, designers, educators and advocates.
