Job Summary
Located in Seattle WA, this position is responsible for the oversight and execution of multiple projects and project managers and is accountable for managing broad and highly complex teams and projects involving significant scope and complexity. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring delivery of projects by meeting and tracking approved scope, cost, schedule, and quality requirements. This position will provide input and/or oversight to project team members on requirements gathering, documentation, client interaction, as well as overall adherence and governance of the Software Development Life Cycle. The candidate will be required to work within a cross-functional team: Marketing, Engineering, Sales and Operations.
Qualifications
Education
- University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, business administration or equivalent academic experience.
- PMP designation is highly desirable.
Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of progress experience in project management, particularly in a professional services environment.
- Proven leadership ability, strong tactical skills and exceptional service orientation while balancing customer requirements as well as internal project deliverables/scope.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Full life cycle development experience.
- Proven experience in wireless communications coupled with launching software-based solutions based off a core platform.
- Proven project management experience deploying customer specific solutions.
- Deep knowledge of project techniques, tools and methodologies.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of working across cross-functional teams that include both internal and external resources; ensuring all teams are working towards a common goal.
- Experience in both large company and start up environments would be an asset.
- Results-oriented individual that pulls up his/her sleeves to ensure overall commitment to customer solutions.
- Can adapt to changing customer environments while providing or evaluating creative solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Deep knowledge of project techniques, tools and methodologies, expert project management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day to day administrative tasks for projects, such as: budget tracking, status reporting, project communications, project meeting planning and facilitation, team member role planning and tracking, contractor management, risk management and project issue resolution.
- Coordinate systems development for major applications, define project requirements including information and data needs, business analysis and programming. Develop, plan, analyze, evaluate and assign priorities to deliverables and requirements.
- Define project phases, set deadlines and manage staff. Develop project plans with milestones.
- Track all project deliverables and ensure adherence to requirements, as well as identify and escalate any issues internally and/or externally.
- Coordinate all meeting and interface with business units, staff and service providers.
- Manage stakeholder expectations with respect to project scope and delivery. Ensures client satisfaction with the project process and project team through effective and timely communication.
- Monitor appropriate risk management practices throughout the project lifecycle. Performs risk identification and mitigation activities, escalating unresolved issues to the VP, Engineering where appropriate to secure timely decisions and support.
- Provide input into testing the application functionality prior to implementation to verify that all requirements that were documented are adequately met.
