QuickPlay Media Wins Best of CTIA Wireless 2009 Award for PrimeTime2Go Premium Mobile TV Service

LAPTOP Magazine Honors QuickPlay’s On-Demand Video Service Which Delivers Popular TV Programs from Leading Networks to Smartphones

TORONTO, ON — 8 April, 2009

QuickPlay Media, the premier provider of solutions that manage the business of mobile video, today announced that its new PrimeTime2Go™ service has been named a LAPTOP Magazine Best of CTIA Wireless 2009 award winner in the “Best Music/Video Application” category. Unveiled at the CTIA Wireless conference, PrimeTime2Go is a monthly subscription fee-based service that will enable consumers to download and watch full-length episodes of their favorite shows on-demand anytime, anywhere. PrimeTime2Go will initially be available via the BlackBerry App World™ storefront beginning in early May.

“With the release of PrimeTime2Go, we are introducing an entirely new mobile entertainment experience that connects consumers with quality content at a price they can afford,” said Mark Hyland, VP Marketing, QuickPlay Media. “We are thrilled that after trying it for themselves, the editors from LAPTOP Magazine recognized the high quality of the service. We look forward to giving consumers the chance to watch their favorite programs wherever and whenever they choose.”

At last week’s CTIA Wireless 2009 in Las Vegas, LAPTOP Magazine editors scoured the show floor for opportunities to test-drive the newest mobile devices, services and applications. Of the products announced or shown at the event, editors selected the top 11 for their annual Best of CTIA Wireless Awards. The winners represent the most groundbreaking products that enhance the end user’s mobile experience through innovative design and functionality.

Upon announcing QuickPlay as a winner, LAPTOP Magazine editors stated that “BlackBerry fans will soon have a cure for iTunes envy.” The PrimeTime2Go service will allow customers to easily browse extensive catalogs of content and download selected programs to their smartphone. Customers will also have the option of subscribing to an entire season of episodes, and having the most recent program automatically download to their BlackBerry® smartphone soon after its original air date. Following the download, subscribers will be able to watch their selected program on their schedule until the pre-determined viewing period expires. All selected content will be delivered over Wi-Fi which provides cost savings, since it will not impact the customer’s data usage. For added convenience, subscribers will have the ability to watch the TV shows offline.
